Yamaha DVD-C750 DVD/SACD universal player
Date Published: 7/6/06
Yamaha's DVD-C750 is a traditional five-disc DVD/SACD carousel changer. Although such decks were once extremely popular, their numbers have decreased with the advent of mega changers, hard-disk storage, and other media solutions. However, Yamaha has always been an industry leader in innovative disc changers, and the DVD-C750 is yet another example.
The front of the DVD-C750 opens forward to reveal a rotating platter, and one disc can continue to play even as others are unloaded and loaded. This player will accept DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, SACD, CD, and CD-R/RW, as well as discs loaded with MP3 and JPEG files. Digital files burned to disc can be navigated using a handy on-screen display.
High-quality video output is ensured with a progressive scan component video output; the connection selection also includes an S-video output and optical and coaxial digital audio outputs.
In addition, the DVD-C750 has both two-channel and six-channel discrete analog audio outputs, the latter of which will output decoded Dolby Digital and DTS signals.
Other features include picture zooming and panning, virtual surround sound, and speaker level and delay settings. The on-screen display is quite intuitive, making this player easy to set up and use. A standard remote control is included.
The DVD-C750 may not have the "wow!" appeal of hard-disk recorders or media servers, but it is in fact a very capable playback device.
Combine the movie and music capability with the changer operations, and the Yamaha DVD-C750 proves to be a relatively low-cost player that can handle virtually any kind of playback format.
