Yes, a saber saw is also called a jigsaw, this power tool can make fine cuts and create complex shapes. The powered saber saw uses a reciprocating motor to move a small saw blade up and down across the object to be cut. Blades available include those for wood, metal, drywall/plaster or plastic. The reciprocal saw uses a reciprocating (alternating direction) motor to move a blade back and forth. It is a larger horizontal version of the electric saber saw. Blades are available for cutting wood, metal, plastic and drywall/plaster. Read more about how a reciprocating saw works.
